About Mel
I’m Mel, the owner and operator of Polymath Projects. I work as a full time Technical Program Manager these days, but support small business with this agency as needed.
Polymath Projects is a digital product agency owned and operated by me, Mel Esterman, a seasoned generalist in the tech world. Starting in customer experience, I moved to QA engineering and then worked in content creation, UX and UI design, product marketing, SEO, product management, engineering project management, and web development.
For many years I wasn’t sure what my one passion was. It turns out my passion is simply helping people, and I am privileged enough to do that with the various learnings I’ve gathered over the years. Being very good at a lot of things certainly has its advantages!
In my free time, I’m most often found hiking with my partner and our dog, looking for the best local ice cream, or climbing at the local gym. I also love to read, play music, and sing.
My Values
There is no one size fits all.
Each person, client, and team has their own needs and problems to solve. There is no plug and play solution that will be the perfect fit, so it’s up to me to provide custom solutions to meet my clients where they are in order to get them where they want to be.
People should be able to self serve.
Folks should have the information and tools needed to move on their own, eliminating as many dependencies as possible. A lack of either of these should not be a blocker for progress.
Interpersonal over impersonal.
Connecting with teams, users, customers, and folks impacted by your work is the best way to make sure needs are met. My services are not just transactions, and my clients aren’t either.
